Just as expected

The fact that the book is the same as the hardcover/US edition and is $65 instead of the $175 they charge at my university's bookstore is great. But be warned that this is the INTERNATIONAL Edition which, strictly speaking is not supposed to be sold in the US and may create some problems for you if you try to resell it.I for one have no problem with buying and using the international edition. I'm sick of being scammed by publishers at the expense of students in other countries having the same text book for less than half of what we pay - especially when publishers print later editions rendering earlier editions unsalable, and also making the hardcover manufacturing totally overkill considering the useful life of a textbook is usually one academic year.The description doesn't mention, or at least I didn't see anywhere saying International Edition. So be warned.

I received this item WITHOUT the ForecastX CD to begin with. I didn't mind much because I didn't need it at all, just needed the book. However, when I tried to do the buyback of the book and returned it EXACTLY AS I RECEIVED IT, it was rejected by Amazon since the CD was not included. Had I known that, I would have sent it back when I first received it. Now I'm stuck with a book I no longer need because the seller neglected to include all the items. Very disappointed to have to eat this cost and will not buy from again.

The forecast CD was not in the CD holder in the back of the book. The software is the most important part of this book and it wasn't provided.

Moreover, students learn how to interpret and communicate the most important components of each forecasting method.The software accompanying the book also includes all the data used in the text examples and chapter ending problems. This provides students with many opportunities to practice each forecasting technique. I found that practicing the chapter ending problems were a strong way to solidify the concepts presented in the text and learn when to apply each technique.

I read this book for an MBA course on business forecasting. It is well written and very easy to understand. I do not have time to spend reading dense textbooks that get lost in academic jargon. This book gets right to the point. Most importantly, every chapter concludes with an application of the lessons learned using the Forecast X software. The book also uses very practical examples such as Gap sales data that everyone can relate to.Prior to reading this book, I had no background in business forecasting. Today, I feel confident in my abilities to prepare, analyze, interpret, and communicate forecasts because of the lessons and practice problems in this book. The software is easy to install as an add-in for Excel. The interface is simple to use and eased my fears of being lost in a complex software package.This is a great book to learn business forecasting.

I have read a lot of Lisa Jackson books and this is the only one that I could not get through. I think it was because I didn't like the two main characters. What awful girls they are, why would anyone care about either one. By the fifth chapter I was wishing that both of the girls would jump off a bridge and put all of us out of our misery. Lisa Jackson love the first two books of the series but wished I had saved my money and not purchased this one.

This third novel in the series is the worst book I've read by Lisa Jackson. The first third of the novel is boring and redundant. The plot twists unfold and are ridiculous. The only redeeming quality is that the author can write suspense.After reading this book I doubt I'll continue reading this series.

I'm a huge fan of Lisa Jackson's previous books, but I couldn't finish this one. The story seemed jumbled with no clear direction and no strong plot that grabs and keeps your interest. I wasn't even tempted to scroll to the end and see what happened. So disappointing. . .

This was the most inane, amateurish book I have ever read. As it neared the end, the author added as many swear words as possible, all gratuitous to the story, as if her editor insisted on more filth to appeal to the masses. Do NOT waste your time or money!!

First, let me say, I am a HUGE fan of Lisa Jackson's. But this book, in my opinion, just seemed all over the place and I found myself skipping ahead just to find out "whodunnit". It seemed as if it were two books in one, one about the supposed main character Cassie, the second about the Detective. It never allowed you to fully indulge yourself in the characters like her past books. Just really disappointed in this book, although I will continue to purchase her books without hesitation.

I absolutely hated for this three book series to end. They all kept me up until the wee hours of the night. I think there is room for a fourth book and wish this wonderful author would continue on this journey. It would be nice to know if Allie could actually change, that was the sad part of this particular story because she was such a sweet child in book one. Please keep them coming..... my favorite author.

This book started out rather slow, but went much faster after the first few chapters. I have enjoyed all of Lisa Jackson's books about Hollywood star, Jenna Hughes and her family. This one didn't disappoint. It got better and better, page by page. Kept me up one night until the wee hours of the morning, because I could not put it down. A nail biting, page turner. Would definitely recommend!! Don't give up on it in the first few chapters. You will be happy you stuck with and finished it! Great read!

I am a fan of Lisa Jackson and this book does not disappoint in taking me on a ride as the plot developed and we able to discover the reasons the characters are doing what they do. I was disappointed with, what I felt was trashing some of the characters and having them do acts not as they had been developed previously. It still is a very good read and it is most likely my personal feelings for the characters and hating to see them do bad things.

Arrived very quickly, in good condition as described.Pleased to have this book for my own, finally. Had many, many years of piano as a kid, but it's been a while since I've tried to play. These arrangements are often simple enough for me to sight-read, but they still sound really good. I have the Christmas Music for Dummies book as well, and those arrangements are a little awkward in places (to my ear) and just a few notches more difficult. Maybe I just find the RD Merry Christmas Songbook more intuitive? And the spiral-bound option is just the best. I hate struggling with standard book spines when I'm playing!

I bought this book after hearing someone play from it at a Christmas party. It was that family's favorite songbook. The pieces are interesting and fun to play and just right for an intermediate level player. Very glad I got this book! The spiral binding is helpful, though so full of songs that it doesn't turn very easily! Anyway, lovely versions of so many favorite songs.

Has a lot of a lot of Christmas songs! LOLI happen to own all of Reader's Digest music books and use them all the time.The arrangements are not for the beginner nor older beginner but for those who can play and enjoy learning more and being challenged. I find them all to be well written. Saying that, I don't want to make anyone feel afraid to buy this book or any of them for that matter. Just know that the music in not constructed in a simplified manner but in a mature and lovely arrangements. I love it.

I had wanted this music book for some time and found it at a very reasonable price at this site. Although used, it was like brand new, with only a slight mar on one of the corners of the hardback cover. The pages inside are pristine. Shipping was free with Amazon Prime...another bonus! The book itself is jam packed with many different styles of music...old traditional carols to standard popular Christmas tunes. At the start of each section there is a page that gives the background of several pieces in that section of the book. If you own and like any other of the Reader's Digest songbooks, you will like this one also. I am not an accomplished pianist, but the arrangements allow me to play with much enjoyment. And even though this is a Christmas songbook, I will enjoy playing from it year-round.

When I left teaching in college I gave my music library to a seminary student. The Readers Digest library of songs was a part of that gift. I as planning a Christmas Carol sing along at my home. The Merry Christmas Songbook had many of the dongs I needed. Fortunately, Amazon.com was my source for locating the book.

One of my favorite Christmas songbooks of all time. There are 110 Christmas standards that are arranged in an easy to understand format. Written for Piano, Guitar, Organ. Except for the strictly instrumental numbers, every song features a vocal melody line with piano or organ accompaniment. This melody line is easy to recognize because the stems of the notes go up, while on the harmony notes, the stems go down. This same line can be followed by any solo C-melody instrument, including violin, flute, recorder, oboe, accordian and harmonica. I thought the way that they used highlighting in songs that have more than two verses (every other verse is in a highlighted color) to be very helpful in following along with the words as you sing along. The songbook has 10 sections. They are: #1 - Our Best-Loved Carols. #2 - Popular Christmas Hits. #3 - For Children at Christmastime. #4 - Christmas Is A Winter Festival. #5 - Modern Carols. #6 - Favorite Carols of Yesterday and Today. #7 - Christmas Around the World. #8 - Christmas Folk Songs and Spirituals. #9 - Christmas Classics and Instrumental Favorites. #10 - Ring Out The Old! Ring In The New Year! At the beginning of each section there are pages devoted to the "Story Behind the Song". This takes a short look at the history behind the song, the singers and/or songwriters who made each song what it is. Lots of great trivia in the stories. For those who are wondering if they should buy the newer version with the CD or the older printings of the book without the CD. I can tell you that there is only one song from the old version that is not in the newer printings, otherwise the song list is identical. If you can purchase a copy that includes the lyric booklet, that's a bonus since many have been lost by former owners.

Received in time to enjoy during the holidays. In good condition and shipped promptly. This book replaced my original destroyed in a water incident. Love this collection of sacred and secular Christmas songs. The arrangements are simple enough to be sight-read by a non-professional pianist but complex enough to be enjoyable to listen to.

It said this book of music was in good condition, however, when a book is missing 8 pages and leaves multiple songs incomplete then it is NOT in good condition. The parts that are there are in good condition but any book with missing pages warns lower marks in my opinion.

This motivational, inspirational, spiritual, enlightening and mind expanding book was written about "What did Jesus really teach?" It is based on the teachings of Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, founders of the Unity Movement, and "Lessons in Truth" by Emilie Cady. Although anyone from any religious background can practice the Unity principles, the interpretation of Bible and Jesus's teachings in this book and "Lessons in Truth" are quite different than mainstream Christianity.It is interesting that when I checked the reviews, there were two people who gave one star to this book. The first person didn't like it because "it was too religious" and the other one claimed "there was not enough religion in it." Unity is called "spirituality without dogma" and the Unity publications are highly motivational writings intertwined with metaphysical Christianity. Unity principles, also the content of this book, are as follow:1. God is love, all good and the only source of our prosperity (Prosperity includes our emotional, mental, and spiritual as well as physical needs). He is omnipotent, omniscience and omnipresent.2. Humans are made in God's image. Therefore, we all have Holy Spirit living in us.( the Divinity of Man)3. What we dwell on is what we bring more of in our lives. Positive thinking brings positive results. (Energy flows where mind goes)4. In order to be healthy mentally, physically and spiritually, we need to be connected to our Creator with regular prayer.5. I recently moved from a traditional Methodist church to the Unity church. This book was recommended as a way to introduce me to a different way of looking at Christianity. What I found in this book was exactly what I was looking for and missing from my traditional church. This book is about the spirit within each of us and not about church doctrine, dogma, or church policies. "The Power Within You" speaks to your spirit, your soul, from the perspective of Jesus' teachings from His spirit. The book is filled with Bible stories that are given a different perspective, aimed at lifting your spirit, the divine in you. There are no doubt many "christians" that would not care for this book at all. But for me, this book is like a breath of fresh air just when I needed it.

I chose a 4 star rating for this book simply because it is a little out of date in terms of the reference made in it; however, the overall content is timeless and relevant. If you are on the journey to understanding your own personal spirituality and innate divinity that is within us all then this is a wonderful book written with lots of refreshing ideas and concepts to consider. At times the author does get a little wonky for me, but I simply had to slow down and sometimes re-read a page or two to get the full meaning of what he was trying to convey.There are parts of this book that I didn't get at all or only felt like I was scratching the surface in understanding the message but they were few and far between and what I have learned in my personal development is that over time and with persistence and intention greater insight can be gained when reading a book that deals with spirituality and the ability of humankind to shape and itself and those around us. Remember it all starts within and that is a key component of this book. You have to be willing to expand your thoughts and explore beyond what we have been traditionally taught. To look beyond what seems obvious to what really is. I believe this book provides good examples of how to do this within the context of "Christian" thinking.I would recommend this book to anyone who is open to and seeking a deeper understanding of who they are, their full potential in the world and how to live harmoniously, first with themselves, and secondly with others.

I purchased this as a book on self-development and found it to be a book about Jesus, actually about both. I would strongly recommend it to those who take a Christian point of view because it argues that what Jesus meant was far from establishing a religion ABOUT Jesus but establishing a mindset that accepts one's own divinity. It could easily serve to bridge the gap between agnostics like me and open-minded believers.

I loved this book! I had read his book, ADVENTURES IN THE SCREEN TRADE some years back. I didn't even know this book existed until I read about it in Goldman's obituary. (RIP) There is something interesting on almost every page. Normally I like to be a matchmaker and pass on books to someone else, but this one is a keeper to read again. I would even say it made me a more knowledgeable film viewer, and not only for the films he discusses.

If you are interested in writing, you must read this book. I can't begin to give a summary because the book is more like a stream-of-thought thesis than a structured narrative. It includes fascinating anecdotes, tangible writing tips, dissection of existing works, and insight from other successful writers. That Goldman pulls this off (this unstructured narrative full of screenwriting advice) is nothing short of amazing. And he doesn't just pull it off, he makes it shine.If it sounds like I am a William Goldman fanboy, it's probably because I am. A brand new one, mind you - this is the first of his writing I have ever read. But he is unique and interesting and, in my opinion, genius. Read this book. You will not be disappointed!(Interesting aside: I started reading this book because someone somewhere mentioned that Mr. Goldman claims to have written the Good Will Hunting script in this book. In fact, he says just the opposite, but because he uses sarcasm, it seems that some people have misinterpreted his comments.)

Not only a terrific instructional book for anyone aspiring to (or attempting to return to a place where he can) write, it's a great read and a peek into the mind and often tortured soul of an icon of the screenwriting trade. The word generous is so over used by actors but it fits here. Goldman lays bare his soul and allows the reader to read blisteringly honest critiques by major sreenwriters of a draft of one of his unpublished screenplays as we get an unfiltered view of these critically and commercially successful scribes. So revealing of each of them and of our hero, as well and shows that having a thick skin can be as important as being a good writer. The best thing about this book is that it makes me want to finish some things I've started and gives me more tools to do so effectively. I guess I buried the lede, but I couldn't put this book down and enjoyed every minute of it.

The first half of this invaluable testimony, by a Hollywood star witness, is brilliant, revealing and delightful, unveiling countless secrets and personal anecdotes. The second half goes off on an insider tangent the just doesn't apply. It often makes no sense.

I'm a huge fan of Goldman's books and most of his screenplays, and the original Adventures in the Screen Trade still stands as the definitive how-Hollywood-works primer. It's great to have him deconstructing the industry once again, praising some unlikely subjects--who would think the 67-year old author of Marathon Man would have picked the Farrelly brothers' There's Something About Mary as 1998's best film?--and attacking even more unlikely subjects--would you expect the screenwriter of A Bridge Too Far to loathe Saving Private Ryan? Goldman does, and how.) I have two key problems with Which Lie Did I Tell, however. One is, many Goldman fans will have seen a lot of this text before. Much of this material has appeared in Premiere Magazine over the years, as well as in collections of Goldman's screenplays. Long-time Goldman enthusiasts, then, might be a bit miffed about buying recycled material. My other misgiving is Goldman's tendency to rely too much on Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid when he's trying to get a point across. The original Adventures, remember, included the complete Butch screenplay and a lot of background material about the real-life duo and the making of the film. So it's disconcerting to see scene after scene from Butch used in the new book, along with many of the same anecdotes Goldman told us the first time around. On the other hand, if you're going to use a single film for a lot of your examples of screenwriting, you could do a lot worse than an Oscar-winning Western classic. So, if you read (and liked) Adventures in the Screen Trade and haven't read Goldman's movie pieces elsewhere, give this review an extra star and give Which Lie Did I Tell a try. If you know every line of Adventures and sought out everything Goldman has written since then, you might consider waiting for the paperback. (Hey, he's rich and his children are grown, no one's going to starve if you pass on the hardcover.)

I loved Adventures in the Screen Trade, so I bought Which Lie did I tell? While not quite as good as the first book, it was still entertaining and informative. I loved reading his section on The Princess Bride, and I was glad to read that he actually liked that movie (since he tends not to like anything he's written).Unfortunately, since I read Adventures in the screen Trade so recently (and he wrote it 20 years ago), a lot of the information--especially when he would talk about Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid--seemed like he was repeating himself. It wasn't that bad, though. It was still fun to read it a second time around.As with Adventures..., I loved the section at the end of the book where he included a screenplay and had people analyze it. It's very interesting to see what works and what doesn't in other people's eyes. It helps to give a good idea to what to include in my own screenplays.Overall, it was a wonderful book--just not as good as the first one. C'est la vie.
