After searching for a while to find the best ASL learning book, I chose this one. And I'm glad I did. It has a very large vocabulary with clear signs and helpful tips. It teaches you about the order of words and facial expressions which are also vital to sign language. Highly reccomend! (Also has a VERY helpful index at the back to find words quicker!)

I bought two copies, one to give to the KSU library (Kennesaw State University) and one for me so I can learn to better communicate with my nephew. This book's format with clear pictures and descriptions is a great help for someone learning ASL. Just a little nuance can change the meaning of the sign and this book points that out. Great book!

Fantastic! I bought this book to help teach myself some sign language to help me communicate better with a friend of mine, and it has been an incredible resource. The pictures are clear and the amount of signs his pretty comprehensive for a beginner like me. It also taught me a lot about the structure of American Sign Language that I had never thought about. Communication with my friend is already better than ever, and I look forward to studying this book even more.

My aunt teaches ASL and suggested something along the lines of a more "dictionary" type book when I mentioned wanting to teach my son some signs to communicate before he can speak. While this book is not alphabetized like a dictionary, it's divided into various sections, alphabet, numbers, basics, days and times, friends and family, etc. There's a glossary in the back linking words to pages, making quick word look up an ease but I've noticed some words that I feel are basic are not included, such as morning. They have all day, all night, tonight, yesterday, day, the days of the week, but not morning. So when looking for some phrases such as good morning, you'll have to do a little improvising, such as good day, etc. But it can all be pieced together for the most part. Some signs got confusing (lack of description, some arrows on the signs weren't specific enough) and I had to refer to a YouTube video to see how it was signed.One thing I really like is the intro, it's short but packed full of confidence building suggestions and recommendations for learning and practicing ASL.So happy I went with this over a baby sign book!

Love this book. My son has autism and is nonverbal so teaching and learning sign language has been a huge help for our family's communication. Pictures are amazing and so easy to understand. The spiral binding makes it super easy to flip pages

This is probably one of the most valuable tools that I have purchased for learning ASL. The pictures are clear and the vocabulary that is included in this book will get you started in your learning process. The book is also very well organized. I am an absolute beginner and only know how to fingerspell. I have been able to pick up more signs easily with this book.

I decided to purchase this book and do a self-study versus taking an online course. I regret that decision as I go through the book and find mistake after mistake, from typos to incorrect equations, mislabeled equations, references to NCEES handbook equations that are nonexistent. I get that the book is extremely long and a typo or two is understandable, but to find an error every 3 or 4 pages is flat out unacceptable. Especially when you charge almost $200 for a review book. It's almost as if the author rushed through this trying to publish it as fast as possible, with no attention to detail whatsoever. PPI's method of reporting errors consists of you sending it in and them reviewing it internally without getting back to you, so they are not helpful in this process.When I'm trying to relearn a lot of the complex material from college, I'd appreciate not having to deal with questioning whether what is written in the book is actually scientifically accurate or not. I'd strongly recommend studying for the PE using some other aid - this one leaves a lot to be desired.

Same as an above review. First you start to see lots of little typo errors, which is forgivable. But when the example question solutions state what equation to use, then use a different equation, disagree directly with the NCEES handbook, incorrectly simplifies equations (it's algebra for Pets's sake!), or mislabels the variables they use, it becomes a problem.Not to mention they carry the error through the calculations, rather than it just being a a typo, such that the solution the book comes up with the wrong answer.I purchased this book several months ago but only started studying recently, and unfortunately I told a friend this was the book I purchased and I think he purchased it as well.

This review material is very helpful.

This book contains 63 pages on Environmental science, which is 0% of the exam, and 17 pages for kinetics which is ~12% of the PE Chemical Exam. After paying $200 for a self study book, I'll unfortunately have to look for supplemental information to round out a review of Kinetics. Disappointed in PPI.
