Want to start a research mission, mining, industry, agricultural or ecclesiastical colony? This book will let you do that, and help guide you in it's growth or rapid decay. I'm going to use this a ton for this alone.There is also a few page each on 4 different factions that can be encountered in the Korunus Expanse.

The Good:It's cheap.You basically learn how to pull out all the stops, if you are desperate to save your teeth (as I am). There is definitely some good advice for some things to do and I learned some things. I give him credit for that. This is by far the best part of the book.It's a fairly quick read.The Bad:The author is most likely being compensated in some way by Hydro Floss and the manufacturers of some of the chemicals he is plugging in this book, in my opinion. Or, he is selling Some of the products direct from his website to make a profit, I can't tell which, frankly. This set off my "conflict of interest detector" constantly, so I felt I had to filter out what is good advice and what was sales pitch. This feeling was bolstered by my going to the websites he promotes as being information sources, finding them to be retailers, and seeing the author's face plastered all over them.The advice in the book could have been given in literally 20% of the space used. The other 80% is filler used to get the thing to a word count high enough to be able to call it a book, I guess? As others have said, way way WAY too repetitive. You have to skip over huge portions of the book to get to the meat.Overall: it's worth a read, but be prepared to do a lot of filtering, and don't believe everything you read. You are paying for a book that is in part an advertisement, or it sure seems like it is anyway.

Update: May 5, 2017Again, I wanted to say that this book has been a help to me. And I have followed the advice in this book and my Gum heath has improved. And I follow a daily waterflossing and brush after meals and snacks, eat a healthy diet. Recently I had a dental checkup and my dentist and hygienist said my gums were a healthy pink and pockets 1s and 2s with one 3. This has taken me time and very hard work, but it has been so worth it. I still have to have cleanings EVERY 4 to 5 months due to my tartar, but my gums and teeth are healthy now. My opinion is that Gum disease can be controlled (but it is an ongoing process). And daily dental home care is a must.Updated review February 6, 2014: So I am continuing to follow this book as I found very helpful to me personally as I am on a dental health journey to improve the health of my gums. (I have Gingivitis. And I wanted to find a book that would guide me in home care and overall suggestions for dental care for my gums and teeth.For me, I found this book informative, helpful and insightful and I recommend it to you.Why should you consider this book over the other ones? Well, personally, for me, I have used the tips in this book and my gums are improving each day as I follow this book and it works for me very well. Results after two months of following this book: My gums no longer bleed when I brush (see why below), and they have changed in color from a deep red to a healthy looking pink).The best parts of this book I found is:****Chapter 3 is the best chapter called Home Care. This chapter lists the things needed for helping the gums improve AT HOME! This chapter gives info on brushing/flossing and sanitizing the toothbrush! And he lists HOW to BRUSH PROPERLY (this really helped me with my gums and teeth as I had been brushing too firmly and with a medium toothbrush, now I use a very soft toothbrush), and the section on Hydro Floss (but I use a Water Pik with wonderful results and my gums are improving each day) and there are other great tips here I found.Overall I am very happy that I purchased this book. For the low cost of 99 cents, it has been worth every penny that I spent!Highly recommend this book!

A fantastic book. Extremely informative. The author isn't a dentist or hygienist, but has probably done more research than many of the professionals. Love it!

As a person who's gums where in really bad shape, I was very happy when I stumbled onto this book. Dave gives great insight on what a person should do to maintain optimal oral hygiene to prevent the development and progression of gum disease such as gingivitis and peritonitis. These diseases can very easily creep up on someone because often a person does not know the signs and symptoms of these conditions or how to combat them. Dave talks about the consequences that failure to maintain one's oral hygiene results in. This is a must read for anyone who would like to be more informed about gum disease. Reading this book, I have learned that 80% of the population has some form of gum disease. If you or someone you know feel that you have some sort of dental problem be it gum disease or cavities, it is of the up-most importance that you go see a dentist as soon as possible. This book alone will not solve your dental problems but it will sure go a long way in helping you be informed on the seriousness that is gum disease and the continuous battle in helping to keep it at bay as well as halting it's progression as best as possible. Dave talks about tools that he uses to help keep his mouth disease free as much as it can possibly be but he also recommends going to a dentist for a cleaning regularly as no combination of tools alone without having a professional cleaning is effective in combating dental disease. He also recommends first checking with your dentist before using any of the mentioned tools. A highly informative and recommended book.

Another thought-provoking work from Bruce Feiler. I wouldn't have believed you could tease that much introspection out of the Adam and Eve story but he found a way to do it and relate it to the way we live today. Much to chew on here in examining and reexamining the most important relationships of our lives.

Very well written and not theologically boring. Presented the story in a way that is not normally heard. He told how the story has been interpreted over the years by popular authors. Many stories have been written based on Adam & Eve's that we don't normally think of as being so.

As someone who believes that Adam & Eve’s story is both real and significant, I enjoyed this book very much. I enjoyed the content, references and organization of the book and thought it was well presented. It caused me to ponder on my beliefs and to consider how I personally can learn & grow by examining the relationship that Adam & Eve had in their lifetime. I affirm that anyone with an open mind can enjoy this book and will wind up with renewed perspective.

A magical, thoughtful treatment of the First Couple. I recommend it unreservedly for anyone seeking illumination on stories from the scripture as they apply today.

One of the most famous of all religious texts, The Bhagavad Gita has been inspiring people to live meaningful lives for over two thousand years. This particular translation makes the profound (and still revolutionary!) ideas truly accessible for modern people. You have to concentrate and want to understand divinity and the greater, mysterious truths underlying life. I enjoy reading a few paragraphs a day and mulling them over. Even though I've read different versions of The Bhagavad Gita dozens of times over the last fifty years, it still feels good and necessary to reflect again on the teachings. At first, when I read this as a college student, I agreed with Arjuna at the beginning of the story (when he was shaking and confused!) that war is wrong; of course we shouldn't attack and kill anybody, much less old friends and family members. Krishna's teachings evaporated for me at that time. I simply didn't recall them after I finished my religion course. Much later I understood how war is a metaphor for simply taking action, and that Krishna was encouraging Arjuna to carry on with his duties and understand that most of this world is an illusion. He tells Arjuna that even as a mighty warrior, he cannot actually kill anyone, since the spirit is eternal. This and the other teachings in this slim volume bring a deep contentment. My sincere gratitude to the author for this translation.

This is an excellent book.Hawley does a superb job writing the text in meaningful English prose for a modern audience. Unlike most versions of the Gita in which poetics or literalness are emphasized in the translation, Hawley conveys the meaning and gets most all of it right with a level of understanding few other translators exhibit.He is clearly writing from an Advaita perspective. He is a follower of the late Sai Baba. The text is skewed in places as a result of those affiliations but all text in every translation of the Gita that has ever been made has been skewed intentionally or not by the translators' own structure of understanding. I found the distortions to be far less important than the degree to which he got it right.I teach a class on the Gita once a year. Hawley's text has become my source manual for the class.

This book is an easy interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita. It is easy to follow, understand and is definitely written for the Westerner in mind. I never came across anything like this before, so having the words and their translations in the text was extremely helpful. It's set up into chapters and subchapters so it is easy to set the book down with a book mark and to remember where you left off. I was able to read the whole book within a week or so. I would recommend reading it in parts instead of sitting and reading it whole only because there is a lot of information to dwell and think on before going to the next chapter. Well done Jack Hawley.

To help make yourself a better person, and thereby improve the world by that same significant amount, I recommend that you buy this book and read it early and often.I was astonished to find that billions of people over thousands of years have contemplated the exact same questions and concerns as I do with regard to God, humanity collectively and our individual roles, opportunities, challenges, successes and disappointments.

I started learning about Hinduism by reading “Hinduism for Dummies” which I immediately made a connection with! I’ve purchased several “Gita” books since then, but this one is without question, the one for beginners! It’s so easy to read and understand, and takes my breath away with it’s beauty! Buy it NOW!

This was very easy to understand for me. My husband already knew the basics and had a very complex translation and commentary on the Gita and it was too hard for me to understand. This however was able to open my eyes to certain "truths" contained within the Gita.Excellent.

This is the best version of this book. It's translated eloquently and is a must read for anyone!! By far my favorite book and lessons to live by.

If you want to understand God and how to worship him/her, then this Is the book I would read! No wonder Gandhi carried a copy with him. It’s better then any religious book (bible, etc.) to help me understand who God is, and what he wants us to become! I found myself using my yellow highlighter to underline extremely important information on how to live a God centered life! This will become my go to book from now on! Like the Bible - you need to keep reading it over and over again to remind you of who and what we can become before God! Gandhi GOT IT! What a masterpiece!
