I'm a native English speaker and have been using this dictionary for my study of Italian over the past couple of weeks. I selected this dictionary because I've been very happy with Oxford dictionaries for other languages. This edition is mostly good, but it has a couple of frustrating omissions related to Italian verb conjugations that make me want to find an alternative.Good points: The text is very clearly legible, the translations are accurate (as far as I can tell) and clearly differentiated, the stressed syllable is clearly noted for all main heading Italian words, irregular plurals for nouns are noted, and there are useful and thorough grammar notes, including verb conjugation tables. More common words are marked with a key symbol - this is a novel feature that could be useful to focus your selection if you pull vocabulary lists for study directly from the dictionary.Bad points: The verb conjugation tables lack indications of stressed syllables (outside of the few cases where there are explicit accents in the normal Italian spelling). Much more frustrating: Italian verbs, even irregular verbs, are not marked with their conjugations. This severely limits the usefulness of this dictionary for learning and looking up Italian verbs. Irregular English verbs, in contrast, are accompanied by their conjugations.
Was just as the seller described. Almost like new condition. Has extras that I did not expect like info on helpful phrases for travellers I don't speak Italian or plan to learn it. I purchased this to help with crossword puzzles and it will be most helpful..
This dictionary has a most impressive collection of Italian-English vocabulary. I carry it with me whenever I go to Italy and whenever I go to my Italian lessons. Would not want to be without it.

Not very useful. You start reading a magazine or newspaper and immediately find words that are not in this dictionary. It is too limited.
This review if for the new release just out. The company may fix it in the future, but until then, it should be pulled.I can say this: the cultural and grammar sections are wonderful. I ripped them out, stapled them together, and have kept them.However, I forgot what 'belt' was in Italian. I reached for my new dictionary and . . . the section "A" leads directly to section "C". If I were a teenager, I probably would have made a video and sent it to Yahoo news. As it was, I ordered an older dictionary.Amazon was great on the refund policy.
