I really like Michal Stawicki's approach towards success. Although this is only the 2nd book I have read of the author, I can tell that he is a solid authority in his business.In this latest book "Know Yourself like Your Success Depends on It" Michal starts off with a lesson in self-analysis and how each of us can examine ourselves on a deeper level and gain better insight into who we are and what we are capable of. There are a lot of takeaways that I found throughout this book, so many that I will have to make a list of them here:• In order to change, you have to know what to change;• Self-image is the starting point of all action; self-talk determines image, and image determines action• to make progress, you should track your progress and track what you can and what you can't;• Start journaling because it is the most common form of self-talk, and it activates motor memory when you handwrite;• Ask insightful questions as a form of self-analysis;• Doing things daily multiplies your efforts;• Meditate because it illuminates your purpose and increases focus, memory and productivity;• Pray so that you have deeper insight into your soul; you can do this by developing the prayer habit;• Create a personal mission statement so that you can accelerate your virtues.This is a really good book that can help you get cantered and create a stronger sense of balance in your life. I recommend this book and will certainly implement the strategies and action steps the author has provided.
I downloaded this book as part of a period of study and it was a bit of an after-thought but turned out to be in my top 3 most useful books studied in this little period of self-development! I had hit a bit of a glass ceiling in my professional life, after reaching a point of comfort. I have been looking for help in finding out why I self-sabotage bigger success. This book, ‘Prosperity for Writers’, and 'The Miracle Morning' have been the biggest life-changers for me.This book covers a lot but it’s main theme is the importance of self-analysis for success. All very well but the author emphasizes taking action rather than just sitting and contemplating!The book highly recommends journalling and cites hugely successful people who journalled. The author points out that success is very closely related to a person’s ability to examine themselves and journalling really helps that. But he points out that, it is just one tool: “Success requires more than good self-analysis, just as being a great basketball player requires much more than great free-throw shooting ability.â€I particularly like the chapter on self-talk. Getting control of our self-talk is an immensely useful thing – we self-talk all the time without realizing and we may as well harness it for our success rather than for self-sabotage. And it’s such an easy and painless thing to do!The author also makes some very useful points about tracking that have had me re-start my own tracking of things I want to improve.There is a chapter of ‘Free Resources’ that included things I haven’t come across before that are very good. There are also sections at the end of each chapter with the salient points – very handy for commiting them to memory and taking action.The author's writing style is good – fast-paced without leaving the reader breathless, and touches of his own experiences give it a personal feel. He is a down-to-earth, practical writer rather than one who deals in vague concepts.This a long enough book to make it worth the cover price and short enough to read in one day and take immediate action. I would recommend it for anyone who wants more success - whether in their career or in life in general. As the author says, "You are your only asset. Know yourself and you will overcome obstacles."
I have read all of Michal's books and he never disappoints. His transparency is very refreshing and his advice is always helpful AND practical. This is is an excellent put book to read if you just want to learn more about what makes you "tick" but it is an absolute MUST READ for anyone who is struggling to make it as a soloprenuer. Michal's examples from his own life make the reader feel that he has " been there" ( right where you are now) and the resources he provides are helpful as well as insightful. Especially inspiring and encouraging is his "ten minute" philosophy.....it made me feel like no effort ( no matter how small)!is ever wasted! Thanks for another awesome book Michal!
After reading Simplify Your Pursuit of Success, I can get started by taking the actions suggested in this follow up book. His other books have inspired me to make positive changes and to stay organized as I work toward success. I have already identified the activities he outlines as the ones I complete on a daily basis, as time permits. However, I could still benefit from Michal's suggestions. I could learn the hard way or I could reread the book and systematically implement the ideas that will help me.
This is the 3rd book I have read from this author and I must say the books he is the sole author of has "hit the nail on the head" as far as I am concerned. I believe he has such a good grasp of human nature and has felt what people who want success feel like.
I enjoyed reading this book. I've been following him for a while and I know that he really understand what it takes to success. Inside the book, he explained why self-analysis is important, and provided useful tips to help me aware of myself so that I can adjust my thinking and behavior into the right course towards success. This is very profound. Thanks for sharing such a great information.
While applicable it take time to accomplish these things. So be patient.
