Liked this short book a lot. I have always had an issue understanding and holding boundaries in my life. I am an Empath I guess, I am sensitive and I try to give people chances. Cluster B personality disordered toxic people do not deserve ANY chances. They will NEVER change. I went in eyes wide open and I still got stuck in the snare. Awful. So now I'm seeking how to ensure this never happens again.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who has suffered any abuse. I grew up in a family with all the varieties of abuse. I married a covert manipulator, and I chose to leave after 23 years. I'm 5 years on my own, and still learning new things about becoming the real empowered me. This resource is incredibly helpful to assist in healing from abuse. The author's lists of our Rights in Ch. 7, or her list of our Needs and examples of Invalidation in Ch 4. were exact. I found it was an excellent follow-up to read after her other book " 30 Covert Emotional Manipulation Tactics". This book helps define personal boundaries: how we lost them, and how we can begin to develop them and proceed on a path to feeling strong. These boundaries can be used with all kinds of relationships because our behaviours of low self-esteem and low self-worth carry from one relationship to another. It can be an excellent guide to those feeling lost and overwhelmed about how to start healing their sense of brokenness; gain back some self-love; and provide a starting point about what to do to get stronger, and feel empowered and whole again. It's like abusers can sense I'll make a good victim and they keep showing up. Up until reading this book i was trying to cling to the idea: if I'm nice to people they'll be nice back. Stopping there will get you used, abused, manipulated, and rejected. Then you're left wondering 'How can this happen to me *again*!? Do I have a sign on my back?' For me, this book is helping me to put a stop to that.Along with validating my experiences and feelings this book also did something I hadn't heard of: make a game so you know how to deal with something when it arises. This is a game-changer for me. Up till now I would just wing-it with people and the same situations keep coming up. This book has clarified things while being a short read. The author refreshingly has chosen to *not* clog the book with useless information just to make the book thicker. I thank her for that!

This book was helpful in helping me understand what healthy boundaries looked like. If I had them and realized the importance of using them, I would have been protected from the Spath that I allowed into my life. But, I also wouldn't have my daughter or be the woman that I am today. Great book on boundaries or "rules" and how to create and enforce them. But most importantly it brings about the understanding that you will never know if a guy cares for you unless you give him boundaries so he can prove to you he does. How will you know he cares? He'll follow your rules.

Cute Potty Book. Elmo shows his doll, baby david how to use the potty. Elmo shows off his cool undies at the end and baby david gets to pick some too! Sounds are fun and my daughter loves to push the buttons. I can't say it helped us potty train exactly, but it did help familiarize her with the concept. I bought a used version, so after about a month the whole button panel popped off bc the glue was pretty aged. Nothing a lil hot glue can't fix though! I only paid $1.97 or something and a few dollars shipping to I really can't complain!

Daughter loves this book. She's of course more interested in just pushing the buttons than actually reading the book but she's enjoying it and knows what each sound means so it's great.

Adorable and love the sound effects when the toilet is flushed!

My daughter just turned two. I gave her this book on the day we started potty training. She likes the noises and push buttons but will not pay attention to the storyline. Also, there are better books out there for using the potty. This book focuses too much on the doll and not enough on Elmo actually using the potty. There is a lot more to read on each individual page than my toddler wants to listen to. I usually cannot even make it through the whole paragraph before she wants to turn the page. She does love the book though. If you are looking for something to keep your child occupied while sitting on the potty, this might be good. Otherwise, buy something else that is more educational if you want the book to teach about using the potty.

What a lovely little potty book for my potty training child.

This book is so cute! I wish it had more buttons to push but my grandson loves it and so do I.

My Grandson Ben loves this Elmo Potty Book, he takes it to the bathroom all the time when it is potty time. I sent it to my daughter and her husband, they said he never departs from it.

My kid just responded so well to this book. It helped quicken the potty training process.

The problem is that once you're eligible to start receiving benefits, it isn't as simple as filling out a form and collecting checks. There are so many different rules, income limitations, age requirements, cut-offs, that it can drive a person mad.So, should you start collecting as soon as you're eligible, or should you wait a few years until you can receive your full benefit? How much money can you make in retirement before it starts affecting your Social Security? Are your benefits taxed? What if you have a spouse, how will their benefits impact you? What happens if I already have a pension? And have you heard people talk about WEP? These are all common concerns that will affect all of us, and if you just tried to get the information from the Social Security website itself, you'd end up more confused than when you started.That's why I think this book should be in the hands of anyone who is serious about their finances. Even if retirement is still years away, you will still be facing many of these decisions even if the specific numbers change over time. The author does a great job of breaking down this complicated program into its important components so you can find out what's important to you and get the information you need. There's no silver bullet or magic number when it comes to Social Security, so this book will guide you and inform you so that you can make the best decision for you instead of relying on some generic advice you find online or hear on TV.It's short, it's an easy read, and it's to the point without making things any more complicated than it needs to be.

I learned about this book from a cnbc article that had a link to an "opensocialsecurity.com" calculator, which presents a recommended age for you to elect your benefit, based on age, marital status, and "Primary Insurance Amount," i.e. the benefit you're scheduled to be awarded at FRA. For me, it suggested age 67 and 9 months for a specified total "payout." I bought the book because I hoped to gain a better understanding of why this age was recommended for me (algorithms, actuarial considerations etc.). There aren't any clues. All I found was the same "Wait till Age 70 if you can" vs. "Take it at 62 only if x,y,z applies" discussion you'll find just about anywhere. So, I'm still scratching my head to know why age 67 and 9 mos. is better for me than age 70 (which has an attached total "payout" of less than $5000 over that which I'd receive taking benefits at my FRA.) I guess the calculator figures you're lucky if you reach 85, or some undetermined age. To his credit, Mr. Piper encourages feedback and provides contact information in the book. I will mail him, and adjust my rating if I get the information I was hoping for....[Update : Mr. Piper did respond, and in timely fashion, and addressed my questions to my satisfaction.]Otherwise, It's a decent, concise book I suppose (though I think it's perhaps a bit pricey for a paperback a little over 100 pp.). Maybe the price went up along with 2% COLA increase last year. :)

Great book! In some cases social security can be complicated. But if your situation is not complicated this book will probably answer your questions and provide you with sufficient knowledge to make an optimal decision. If your case happens to be a complicated one for whatever reason - multiple marriages, disability questions, non-covered pensions, etc., this book MIGHT provide you with enough info to figure it out and make a decision on your own. But even if your situation is too complex for that - at a minimum - the book will provide you with a heads up on the issues and a good sense of the options that your should consider; this background will be helpful in discussions with your advisor or the SSA staff.

This book is "okay" if you've never researched Social Security at all. Points are succinct. They get to the point quickly. Many pages may not apply to your specific situation -- not the author's fault (he's trying to be all things to all people). Just know this info repeats what your other studies may have already told you. In concert with it is the online calculator that tries to determine your exact best time to start collecting Social Security -- and I have not found another -- online, nor anywhere else. Let's hope it's accurate.I found this very easy to tolerate, as opposed to the grueling rendition of the audible versions of the "Get What's Your's..." series on Medicare and Social Security. My God, the melodrama in those presentations are ANNOYING!! :-)

It explains the rational behind the decision making for the 'when to file' decisions.This book has helped me tweak my strategy for when to claim and has made me much more confident about my decision. Well worth the price!

I loved reading Speak to Win. Brian Tracy is a true professional influential presenter. What I liked best about this book was the numerous helpful tips and examples Brian Tracy shared to illustrate each point for further enhancing efforts of how to present yourself to others (whether that audience be one person or a group). Highly recommend!

I love this book.It's awesome.I'd like to learn more about salesperson and techniques.As an esl I always have the ambition to do public speaking.But i'm not sure if it's okay for me to make speech in another language other than my mother tongue. But still believe everything is achieveable

This book cover pretty much everything on how to be a better speaker and communicator. However, it emphasizes more to public speaking. Not exactly the book you are looking for engaging people in social situation, sales, company's meeting, etc. Mainly because the writer is a famous public speaker.

This book is a very easy read. Brian Tracy lists out his concepts and application tactics in a very clear and easy to follow manner. I would recommend this book for anyone who wants to learn how to speak and present better. Best of all, it's practical because it draws from his own experience instead only studies and reviews. He definitely helps break down the components into easy to practice skills.

Brian covers broadly a very important topic; the Art of Speaking & Rhetoric. He covers many many topics in a very small book incl. small audience, large audience and controlling your space. Obviously, the topics lack depth while the interested reader can learn more with a specific book. For example Chapter 8, 'Vocal Mastery', Brian offers some basic tools within the natural limits of 13 pages. Readers wanting to get more deep knowledge on the subject could buy a book like 'the 3-Dimensional Voice'.All in all, SPEAK TO WIN does well in covering the basics of many subjects in speaking and rhetoric. I’ve been involved with Wi-Fi almost since there was Wi-Fi, and during the time I was learning the technology, I was amazed that there were virtually no books on the topic. I had to learn it on my own. Later on, when books began to appear, I was puzzled that none of them seemed connected to any reality I had had any experience with. I had this hunch that the guys who were writing a lot of these books (especially those targeted at corporate IT departments) had never laid hands on any actual Wi-Fi gear. What they were telling me wasn’t matching what I was finding as I implemented networks for myself and later for my friends. I hate when that happens—so I decided to write a book based on experience rather than vendor documentation and hearsay. The book represents three years of working with 802.11b systems. There was no vendor involvement and no "review products." I paid for all the gear and I describe it as I found it, for good or for bad. I tell you what worked for me and what didn’t, and how I figured it out. If you follow the techniques I describe, you should be able to do it too. Some of it is a little goofy—making microwave antennas out of foil-lined soup boxes, say—but I was amazed at how well it worked. Working with Wi-Fi now reminds me of the Crazy Years of personal computing, back in the 70s and 80s when anything was possible and the suits were still trying to figure out how to put it all back in the bottle. We changed the world with personal computing, and over the next five years, we’re going to change the world again, this time with ubiquitous wireless networking. Why not get in on it?

It is a classic. I wish Mr Dunteman would write a new edition. He is a great writer of tech stuff.

Words cannot express how happy I am to be able to write a review for Jeff Duntemann's new book. I have "known" Jeff since around the early 1980's. Unfortunately, Jeff and I are both old enough to remember when correspondence outside of your office took place via snail mail and the most popular Internet tools of the time were Archie, Veronica and Gopher.The things that I like the most about Jeff's books (and I have several of them) are twofold. First, when he writes on a topic he covers the given topic in-depth. With him, no stone is left unturned. Second, his writing style is such that he makes you feel as though you are sitting across the coffee table from him having a discussion while enjoying a cup of java or a glass of good (single barrel) Tennessee sour mash whiskey. His latest project does not disappoint!If you are thinking of getting WLAN access for your home or small office, this book is for you. If you already have WLAN access at your home or small office and are interested in tweaking; tuning or expanding it, this book is for you. If you are mechanically inclined and want some WLAN projects to work on, this book is for you. If you are interested in wardriving, warchalking, setting up a hotspot or creating a captive portal, this book is for you. And (if you are like me) if you work with this technology for a living and want to pick up some pieces of technology that you were not aware of, this book is for you.It is all there in the book and, once again, Jeff has done a great job of explaining it and making it all crystal clear. I was given this book as a gift of appreciation for contributing news items to Netstumbler.com. I highly recommend this book for beginners interested in further understanding their home network or extending its range and having fun with Wi-Fi.The first part of the book is an introduction to Wi-Fi and its applications. The second part of the book shows you how to hook up a network in your home. The third part covers the theoretical and practical details of security. The fourth part deals with extending the range of your laptop and some of the secrets behind wardriving.I liked the tin can bandwidth extender project section. It's just what you need in order to fire that over-priced cable or DSL connection and get your broadband service from one of the thousands of nearby Starbucks. The wardriving section shows you how to find access points from your car.

If computer networking or security is NOT your day job, but you are interested in, or have already setup a home/small-business WiFi network, BUY THIS BOOK!This is the "...for Dummies" for WiFi, except it does not insult the intelligence like other introductory titles. The writing style is approachable, humorous and flows well. It assumes no prior networking knowledge, and takes us through the historic evolution to present-day WiFi.It is accurate, covers security risks & responses and the captures the overall excitement in the "homebrew" & wardriving communities. (Excellent coverage of custom antenna's, theory & practice)If you are an MCSE or CNE looking to certify for some sort of WiFi test - this is probably not the book for you.... but if you are a home-user, small business owner or general "radio-tinkerer" excited by the potential of WiFi - BUY THIS BOOK!

I just recently came across this book because a friend suggested I get it. I've been using wi-fi for a little over a year now and I bought a number if the books that were published over the past year--big disapointment there. I was super gald to find this book because most of the other books were very academic and didn't really offer much.What I like about this book is that it is very hands-on. And man this author can really write. This is one of the best technical books I have ever read. If I were a tech writer I'd really want to take lessons from this author.The best part about the book is the hands-on projects and the chapter on War Driving. The Wi-fi reception in my house (I live in an older house) isn't great so I've been messing around with some of the projects in the book to improve my reception. The discussion of attennas is really first rate. I wish that I had more technical books that were written this well.-Peter

Borrowed this book from a family support center near my house and had to buy my own copy. This book got me through some very tough times. I had just been diagnosed with PPA/PPD after suffering for 3 months postpartum. I didn't realize how hungry I was to hear about other similar experiences until I started reading some of these stories. The organization of the book is very helpful and the variety of the stories is wonderful. The forward is also important to read. Highly recommended for moms and caregivers!

My daughter just delivered a healthy 8 lb 6 oz boy but was not able to enjoy him at all. As a matter of fact, she said to me "I got angry when I realized I couldn't send him back". She had a pretty tough first pregnancy, endured 5 months of bed rest, developed HELLP syndrome which caused an emergency C-section and two days later ended up back in the hospital with an intestinal infection. Who could blame her for being overwhelmed, unhappy and unsure about having had this baby.I researched books on the internet and came across this one which had been written by someone who had gone through many similar feelings along with others who had experiencedpost-partum depression in one manner or another.I gave it to her upon my arrival in town as she welcomed me in tears. It broke my heart to see her that way. She read it from cover to cover that day and it helped her to understand that others had gone through this and that it was not her fault. She was fortunate and because it was recognized so early, she began taking medication right away. It took her a few weeks but she is now able to cope and is feeling a hundred times better. This morning on the phone she told me that she had just read him a story and to hold on so I could talk to my wonderful grandson.Thank you so much for this book. It truly helped more than any words she heard from many well-meaning friends.

This book has been so incredible in helping to restore my hope in my recovery process with PPD. I read it every day to remind myself that I too will be well again. All the mothers who participated in this book, including the author herself need to be applauded for sharing their stories and possibly saving womans lives. This book makes any woman going through PPD not feel alone and can fully restore their hope that they will recover. Mother to Mother has been a key factor in my recovery process, it is a beautiful, wonderful book that every mother who is suffering with PPD should not be without it. This book helped restore my sanity.

I have read a few other Postpartum books that were also excellent, however this one is amazing. I loved it because it has real stories written by women from around the world experiencing all types of Postpartum issues. It included their thoughts, feelings, struggles, and words of encouragement that it will get better! It has helped me tremendously. If you or someone you know is experiencing any type of postpartum issues, this book is a must. I want to thank the women who wrote in their stories and the author who created such a wonderful book!

I love this book. Even two years after my own battle with postpartum depression I like to thumb through the pages and re-read the accounts of women who "have been there". It's comforting to know I was never truly alone. This book is a must for any women struggling with postpartum depression! It is easy to read, with no heavy clinical mumbo jumbo. Just heart felt personal accounts from women who suffered from postpartum depression and their triumphant recoveries that followed.

This book is amazing. It provides real stories of women who have overcome depression after a birth. I've read other books and none provide the insight and support that we need at this time. They all are too medical and clinical while this is real world stories. I found myself crying tears remembering how difficult the last few months have been and tears of happiness at how these women have overcome this tough time.

Very good book. Lots of short and to the point stories that really helped me feel better.

I so needed this. Got me out of my depression and let me know I wasn't alone.
